Carolyn Hepler-Smith

I choose to study nature by responding to it, rather than representing.  I struggle to bring air to my paintings.  When a work is complete it will communicate a sensation, rather than an idea.

Carolyn Hepler-Smith was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  She lived in there until moving to Savannah, Georgia in the fall of 2009.  She is currently pursing a BFA in Painting and Sculpture at the Savannah College of Art and Design.  This fall quarter’s classes include Advanced Painting, Installation Sculpture, and Treasures of Provence.
